BDA: Another MOB in AC50 practice, this time the Kiwis

YOU JUST NEVER KNOW if these man-overboard incidents are drills, or the real deal. But it happened again yesterday in Bermuda where the teams are practicing in their AC50s leading up to the start of the Louis Vuitton Cup racing two weeks hence (Friday, May 26th). It looked to be tactician/trimmer Glenn Ashby (AUS), who reportedly was uninjured and retrieved by the ETNZ chase boat. God forbid one of these MOB situations results in a sailor being hit by a dagger foil or rudder, of their own yacht or another yacht racing close by.

Apropos my comment above, the NZH story includes this sobering sentence: "The multihull veteran appeared to have mistimed a few steps and got his footing wrong as he moved across the boat. Unable to stop, he elected to take a leap to ensure he was well clear of the rudder, which, at the speeds the 50-ft America's Cup Class catamarans travel, could cause serious injury."
