AC36 Preview – If someone put me in charge....

SAN FRANCISCO – If someone put me in charge, I'd create a new series of multihull fleet races, "The International Foiling Flyer Series," with recycled AC50 footers as the main event, and preliminaries, for junior sailors, in the 45s. They would be fully one-design boats, by the way, especially the foils. Then I would create a new protocol for the AC, with racing in something like the Super 12s (great name, by the way) with one design hulls & fixed rig measurements and rational budgets. Real tactics, exciting starts, crew work at a premium and races long enough to average out wind shifts. Just my $.02
