AC36: Interesting video from ETNZ on the soft wing-sail for the 2021 America's Cup that was reve

AUCKLAND – Further to our popular post yesterday about the new soft wing-sail being tested by Emirates Team New Zealand for use on the AC 75 yachts for the 2021 Cup, the video below was released today by ETNZ. It puts a lot more meat on the bones of this interesting concept that, in the words of Kiwi skipper Glenn Ashby (AUS), is "a huge step towards that [class] rule finalization, and a big part of the future class of the America's Cup."

The AC75 Class Rule is due out at the end of March. The teams are permitted to splash the first of their two permitted (by the Protocol) AC75 yachts in April 2019, giving the teams only a year to explore the rule, design their first yacht, and build it. A tight and challenging timetable to be sure.
