VOR: Vestas 11th Hour Racing wins Gothenburg In-Port Race; MAPFRE wins the In-Port series

GOTHENBURG, SWE (#1037) – Congrats to Charlie Enright (USA), Mark Towill (USA) & Co. on Vestas 11th Hour Racing for winning the final In-Port Race for the 2017-18 Volvo Ocean Race on Sunday afternoon. MAPFRE finished third, securing the top spot in the In-Port series with one race to go (June 30th in The Hague). So what? Well, any ties at the end of the final Leg 11 to The Hague, which begins on Thursday, June 21, it will be broken in favor of the team highest-placed in the In-Port series.

In addition to MAPFRE, the other two teams in contention at the top of the overall VOR overall leaderboard that, while highly unlikely, could end up tied at the end of Leg 11 are Dongfeng and Brunel. They finished the In-Port series ranked second and fourth, respectively.
