World Sailing: Another incredible blunder by the non-sailing CEO – the May Mid-Year meetings will be
SAN FRANCISCO (#1183) – In an unprecedented* move by Andy Hunt (GBR), the non-sailing CEO of the cash-strapped international sailing federation trying desperately to survive their profligate policies, World Sailing announced today that observers attending the Mid-Year meeting in May will be charged US$110 per day for the privilege of watching, in person, the World Sailing sausage being stuffed and shaped.
More about this and the other continuing WS madness on tomorrow's TFE LIVE when our special guest will be Richard Gladwell (NZL), the esteemed NZ editor of Sail-World.com, live via Skype from Auckland.
On a more positive note, Richard and I will also have the latest on the America's Cup, and preview the next 24 months given that the AC36 Match is set to begin two years from yesterday.
As always, TFE LIVE airs every Tuesday and Friday at 1300 Pacific / 2100 UTC on our Sailing Illustrated Facebook page.
*We might have also used the word "unbelievable," except that, given the source, it should come as no surprise at all.
When Richard joined us live via Skype from AKL in January, that show garnered over 15,000 views live and in replay. Tune in tomorrow for the latest on World Sailing, the America's Cup and more.
