AC36: NYYC American Magic B1 officially launched and named at a low-key ceremony for family and frie

DEFIANT was also the name of one of Bill Koch's 1992 IACC yachts that raced under the team name America Cubed. That team went on to win the San Diego Yacht Club defender trials, and the 1992 America's Cup Match in San Diego against the Italian challenger of led by the late Raul Gardini, IL MORO DI VENEZIA.

DEFIANCE was the name of a defense candidate built for the America's Cup scheduled to be held in 1914 that was derailed by the start of World War !.
